As your veterinarian, part of our commitment to you and your pet is to make sure you have access to the best emergency care possible, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During our regular business hours, Manalapan Animal Clinic & Hospital’s medical staff and resources are available to help you with any emergency your pet experiences. Please call (732) 536-1888 in advance so we may prepare for your arrival.
Our hospital is an active member of the American Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society and the Veterinary Wound Management Society.
Should your pet experience an emergency outside our regular hospital hours, we recommend the following 24-hour emergency/trauma hospitals:

Signs Your Pet Needs Urgent Care
The easiest answer as to whether you should seek emergency care for your pet is when you feel his or her medical condition is serious and cannot wait. However, the following general situations should help you determine if you need to seek emergency care for your pet:
- Bleeding
- Labored or noisy breathing
- Difficulty urinating or defecating
- Seizures or collapse
- Ingestion of toxins or foreign objects (e.g. grapes, raisins, chocolate, and more)
- Inability or difficulty walking
- Trauma such as bite wounds or being hit by a car
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Distension of the abdomen, wretching (bloating)
- Abnormal behavior
